On Sat., April 22, Seguin Services Inc. (which has nine homes for people with disabilities in Oak Park) hosted its 3rd Annual Spring Makeover: Into the Neighborhoods. The makeover is Seguin’s way to celebrate National & Global Youth Service Day”the world’s largest day of service. Over 175 volunteers, mainly students, did outdoor clean-up and landscaping on six of Seguin’s sites”two of them in Oak Park and Forest Park. Participants came from Oak Park and River Forest High School, Julian Middle School (80 volunteers), Dominican University (30 volunteers) and Harvard Family United Church of Christ. Additionally, McAdam Landscaping of Forest Park and Whole Foods Market of River Forest were sponsors of this year’s event.
