Marcelle Condon, 86, Artist, mother of five
Marcelle Grace Condon, 86, a resident of Oak Park for 40 years, died Saturday, March 10, 2007. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Thomas Patrick Condon, with whom she had five children.

Born in Chicago in 1920 and a graduate of Morton College in Cicero, she was a published poet, painter and sculptor. Mrs. Condon has paintings in the Chicago Art Institute and was a member of the Oak Park Art League.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Francis (Kathleen) Condon and Gregory Thomas (Michelle) Condon, and her daughters, Jane Chantal (Gregory) Layton and Mary Elizabeth (Edmund) Gleeson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Olivia Condon.

Services were held on March 17 at St. Edmund Church, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Giant Steps (School for Autistic Children), 8320 S. Madison, Burr Ridge 60527. Arrangements were handled by P.M. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.

Robert Robertson, 71, Army veteran, electrician
Robert Bruce Robertson, 71, a former resident of Oak Park and River Forest, died Thursday, March 15, at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. Born in Chicago, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as an electrician and a construction worker.

Mr. Robertson is survived by his sons, Bruce and Colin (Cheryl) Robertson; his daughters, Peggy (Frank) Walter and Sheila (Bill) Sternberg; his grandsons, Ian and Sean Robertson and Kyle, Zach and Jake Sternberg; his sister, Rita (George) Charuhas; his sister-in-law, Cindy Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Thursday, March 22, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Hitzeman, followed by private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Paula Priebe, 47, Mother of two, Oak Park resident
Paula Ann Priebe, 47, wife of Mark Bloedel, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 in her Oak Park home. She was the mother of Alexander and Caitlin Bloedel who attend Julian Middle School and Oak Park and River Forest High School, respectively.

Ms. Priebe is also survived by her sister, Cheryl (Terry) Kordik; her nephews Kevin, Ryan and Logan Kordik; and her mother, Evelyn Priebe.

Visitation was held at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home on March 14, and a memorial service was held at the funeral home the next day, followed by interment at Bethania Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
