Two of the traffic-stoppers during the art walk on Harrison Street this weekend were foundlings Maggie and Scratch.
Saturday afternoon, the pair was guarding the entrance to Careful Peach boutique, their accompanying volunteer from Animal Care League and, most attentively of all, each other.
They were brought to the Oak Park shelter together from a home where there was a death in the family and survivors no longer could care for them.
This Labrador and poodle each need a home, yes. But they would do best in the same home, say folks at Animal Care League.
Maggie is 8. Scratch is 11.
To adopt them: Call Animal Care League at 848-8155 for an application or find one online at www.animalcareleague.org. Bring the completed application to the shelter at 1013 Garfield St. in Oak Park. The shelter is open from noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
