On the plan commission, Colette Lueck voted to approve the Whiteco project at the corner of Harlem and Ontario, which took at least $15 million in taxpayer money. [For fairness and diverse perspectives, elect Lueck, Viewpoints, March 11] Then in December of 2008, she blamed the current financial problems on previous boards.

This demonstrates a lack of vision and leadership that Oak Park needs in this time of financial crisis. That $15 million that Colette Lueck voted to give to Whiteco could have prevented the budget shortfall that Oak Park currently faces.
