While I congratulate all those endorsed to date, Wednesday Journal missed an opportunity by not endorsing or giving more background information on Amy McCormack.
While we are more than fortunate to have so many highly qualified candidates running for seats on the District 200 board, I want to draw special attention to Ms. McCormack, a resident I’ve work with recently. Her experience as a labor lawyer will assist in negotiating contracts with district unions. She has previously immersed herself in village and elementary school committees and commissions. She has prioritized recruiting and retaining teachers that reflect the diversity of the Dist. 200 student population. She believes in and will work towards strict fiscal stewardship.
Amy McCormack deserves consideration as a Dist. 200 board member and will be a strong advocate for young people and taxpayers.
