Gun displayed in armed robbery

Oak Park police said a man in his 30s, walking in the 100 block of South Taylor Avenue Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m., was robbed of his wallet and electronics. The victim told police an unknown man approached him, displayed a black semi-automatic pistol and said, “Give me your wallet. Don’t let me shoot you.” The victim complied, police said, and then the offender demanded his Samsung Galaxy II cellphone and a computer laptop bag and fled southbound through the Taylor/Humphrey alley. The wallet contained ID, credit cards, and $80. Chicago police later found the laptop bag — with Apple laptop intact — on the ground in the 5700 block of Lake Street, in Chicago. Estimated loss was $400.
