Einar Ericksen
Einar V. Ericksen, retired master sergeant with the Illinois State Police for 32 years, has died. He and his wife, Rita loved to travel to Europe. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Oak Park Conservatory, the Economy Shop, and an usher with the OP-RF Symphony, Music of the Baroque, and Handel Week.
Mr. Ericksen was the husband of Rita (nee Salo); the father of Amy (Dale) Kerner and the late Peter; and the grandfather of Edward and Ashley.
Visitation will be held today, Jan. 7, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. (North at 76th Ave.), Elmwood Park. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Giles Church, on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery. 708/453-1234 or www.elmsfh.com
