Ryan A. Hammond, 25, of Oak Park, died peacefully on Nov. 5, 2015 at West Suburban Medical Center, surrounded by family and close friends. He attended Oak Park and River Forest High School and was a graduate of Chicago’s Roosevelt University. During his short life, Ryan touched many with his generous spirit and warm smile. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and serving as a role model, mentor, and caregiver to many children in his community.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Torrence and Lisa; his sister, Haley; his grandfather, Albert Watkins; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins, notably Ariana Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents.
A memorial will be held at Oak Park’s Carleton Hotel, 1110 Pleasant St., on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m.
