Johnnie Evans

Johnnie O. Evans, 93, a longtime Chicago resident, died on Jan. 17, 2016. Born on July 16, 1922, she was a longtime parishioner of Oak Park’s St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Catholic Church, a member of the Lumen Cordium Society, the Aquila Nash Ministries, and the Edgar Cayce Foundation. 

Johnnie Evans is survived by her children, Tommy (Ping) Kidd, Janet “Renee” Evans-Dale, Mary Ann Evans PCV, Gregory (Laura) Evans, and Scarlett (Raul) Perez; her step-daughter, Marva Jean Hough; her grandchildren, Clarence “Christopher” Dale and Trevor Dale; her great-grandchild, Jadyn; her niece, Yvonne Haywood, and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia L. Evans; her parents, John and Annie Davis; her sisters, Mamie Mitchell and Rosalie Davis; and her nieces, Irma Jean Asendio, and JoAnne Mitchell. 

Visitation was held on Jan. 23 until time of Mass at St. Catherine-St. Lucy Catholic Church, 38 N. Austin Blvd. in Oak Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Additional information is available at www.drechslerbrownwilliams.com and at 708-383-3191.
