The article by Ken Trainor on Jean Ott is awesome! [The Prime of Miss Jean Ott, News, April 27] I laughed and cried as I read it. Jean Ott came alive.
Ken’s insightful comment that Jean “lived her entire life inside a very specific triangle, always within a few hundred yards of Ascension Parish …” found a resonance within me. Jean’s triangle seems to me a reflection of the Trinity, such a solid foundation for many of us and yet a mystery to understand. Jean’s dedication to Ascension allowed her to grow and blossom where she was firmly planted. In turn her gift of teaching year after year encouraged her students to move on to new horizons and share their talents with others.”
