The Village of Oak Park is being sued by Oak Park and River Forest High School for $3.3 million in past-due tax disbursements, yet is preparing to deliver $10 million in taxpayer money to a private developer to build condos in a saturated market and a hotel tower without a hotelier or a banquet facility. The credibility of the village board and its ability to properly manage village funds continues to erode.
